Virginia’s epic doom metal combo WHILE HEAVEN WEPT have this week put the finishing touches on their massive upcoming live album “Triumph:Tragedy:Transcendence – Live At The Hammer Of Doom Festival” to be released via Cruz DelSur Music on November 8th, 2010 as a CD/DVD set.
Virginia’s epic doom metal combo WHILE HEAVEN WEPT have this week put the finishing touches on their massive upcoming live album “Triumph:Tragedy:Transcendence – Live At The Hammer Of Doom Festival” to be released via Cruz DelSur Music on November 8th, 2010 as a CD/DVD set.
Streetclip TV in Germany are editing the DVD, and based upon the rough draft version, in the words of frontman Tom Phillips “It’s going to turn out absolutely amazing considering the number of cameras involved as well as the very musically-inclined filming”.
This will be the first official live DVD released by the influential band, and it is therefore exciting to know how much care and effort has been put into its making. It will be a product making Cruz del Sur Music catalog proud of. Fans worldwide need not to worry because The DVD program will be region free, in order to make it be playable anywhere without incident.
On the live release coming together, frontman Tom Phillips also stated: “The performance features an equal balance of material from all of our albums,and features a good amount of improvisation ala Rainbow circa 1976, making this a veryspecial release indeed.”

In addition to the CD/DVD set, there will be a limited edition 2xLP set released through a joint collaboration between Cruz Del Sur Music, High Roller Records, and Iron Kodex Records. This set will be pressed on heavy vinyl, and will be housed in an equally heavy, gorgeous gatefold sleeve filled to the brim with photos from WHILE HEAVEN WEPT‘s weekend in Germany, including some never-before-seen shots by Hans-MartinIssler. A stunning poster and full color insert will also be included in the package. 250 copies will be on colored vinyl, and you can expect this to be released on October 23rd,2010 just in time for the Hammer Of Doom 4 festival in Wuerzburg, Germany.

WHILE HEAVEN WEPT would also like to announce the addition of Jason Lingle to the lineup on keyboards, who previously appeared in the band Altura alongside WHW lead vocalist Rain Irving. With the band’s lineup now a mammoth seven member crew, this addition will bring even more strength to their future live and studio performances.
On the live side, the band has been confirmed for Up The Hammers, Hammer Of Doom and ProgPower USA festivals for 2011, and will be planning more live shows in the coming months, including an appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina this Saturday,September 25th.
